Youngest Supernova

Scientists have discovered the youngest
supernova ever seen in our galaxy. The supernova (pictured in a composite image) is estimated to be just 140 years old. People in the 1800's probably would have seen it in the constellation Sagittarius, if it wasn't obscured by dust.
