Many denizens of Eastern Europe are struggling to survive one of the most harrowing winters on record. The region has been blanketed with an astounding 15 feet of snow and endured numerous sub-zero nights over the last few weeks. The extreme weather has crippled government and transportation services, caused massive destruction to buildings and houses, and claimed the lives of hundreds of homeless in the area.
