Animals Think About Thinking

According to J. David Smith, Ph.D., metacognition, or thinking about thinking, is not unique to humans. The University at Buffalo comparative psychologist says there is growing evidence that dolphins, macaque monkeys, and other animals share our ability to reflect upon, monitor or regulate their states of mind.
