Just weeks after Hurricane Frances slammed into Florida, another brutal storm is taking its toll on the sunshine state. Hurricane Jeanne, a powerful category 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 115 mph, made landfall near Stuart, FL late Saturday night. Jeanne is the state's fourth hurricane of the season, and is expected to bring massive damage and extensive flooding to parts of Florida. Read more from Reuters(1).
Satellite image taken at 2:15 p.m. (EDT) on September 25th and released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) shows Hurricane Jeanne approaching the east coast of Florida.
