Look, But Don't Touch

Although this recently discovered species of slow loris may appear to be cuddly, the creature is actually a rare venomous primate. Experts say the loris draws poison from under its arms and then spreads the toxin onto its teeth, giving it a deadly bite. Despite the loris' unique means of protection, the animals remain a frequent target of poachers as they draw high value in the underground pet market. More on the story at National Geographic.
