NASA to 'Lasso' Asteroid
NASA scientists have revealed their plan to 'lasso' a 500-ton asteroid, roughly the size of two busses, and turn it into a way station orbiting the moon. The giant space rock would provide a base from which astronauts could launch missions into deeper space, such as a trip to Mars. This first-of-its-kind effort would employ an Atlas V rocket with a special capsule capable of placing a giant 50-ft bag around the spinning asteroid. More at Mail Online.
