'Nessie' Nixed

A piece of guerilla art resembling the Loch Ness Monster has been stirring controversy in Eau Claire, Wisconsin after it appeared in the city's Chippewa River last week. While the public have been largely indifferent to the Nessie tribute, government officials have called for the sculpture to be removed due to safety concerns. The ultimate fate of the faux-Nessie remains to be determined as local businesses and the city's recreation department hope to acquire the artwork and the anonymous creator of the sculpture has promised to remove the piece soon. More on the story at the Duluth News Tribune.
