Sphinx Paws Discovered in Israel

The paws of an ancient Egyptian sphinx have been discovered at a site in Israel north of the Sea of Galilee. The fragment of the statue contained a hieroglyphic inscription with the name of King Menkaure, who ruled Egypt over 4,000 years ago, and built one of the pyramids at Giza. It's thought that the sphinx may have been brought to Israel after Menkaure's reign, during the second millennium B.C. More here.
