Belgian architect Vincent Callebaut(1) has proposed an amphibious environment called the 'Lilypad,' a half-aquatic, half-terrestrial city that could house 50,000 people. He believes such a structure could be the answer to human displacement that may occur due to global warming. More at CNN International(2).
