Windmills of the Future?

Looking to overcome the issues that have slowed the proliferation of wind turbines, a New York design firm has developed the Windstalk Project. The concept proposes creating a huge field of massive 'stalks' that harness kinetic energy from the wind. The minds behind the Windstalk Project tout it as "completely silent" and more akin to natural agricultural formations than traditional wind farms. More on the story at Discovery News.
