Cyberdyne Corporation of Japan has begun production of a cybernetic bodysuit designed to help people with weak muscles or disabilities. The HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb) suit uses special pads which attach to muscles and detect nerve signals from the brain. A photo of an eerie figure peering from the window of a ruined fortress has experts puzzled. The shot, captured last year at Tantallon Castle in Scotland, appears to show a rather stern-looking person wearing fifteenth century dress. Ghost skeptic Richard Wiseman is baffled, as the castle is "not the sort of place that has dummies or costumed guides," and the photographer claims no one was present when the picture was taken. Recovered pieces of an asteroid spotted over the Sudan desert back in October may tell us something about the solar system's early history. The recovery of the rocks, which belong to a rare class of asteroid, mark the first time scientists were able to track an asteroid from space to the ground. More at Wired Science.
