Amazing Shuttle Photos

The Mail Online has posted several amazing photos of space shuttle Discovery on approach to a landing strip in California's Mojave Desert Friday. Deteriorating weather on the east coast had prevented the spaceship from landing at its home port in Florida, and extended the crews time in orbit for two additional days. NASA eventually diverted the shuttle to Edwards Air Force Base, where it glided to a safe landing.

'Wizard of Oz' Corn Maze

The Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion have been brought to life (in corn) at the Fritzler Family Farm in LaSalle, Colorado. This year's maze honors the 70th anniversary of "The Wizard of OZ," the 1939 classic staring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr and Jack Haley, as well as marks the tenth year the Fritzler Family has created something a-MAZE-ing in their corn fields. Oldest Bible Fragment Found

A previously unseen section from the world's oldest Bible, the Codex Sinaiticus, has been discovered in St. Catherine's Monastery in Egypt. British-based academic Nikolas Sarris found the fragment, believed to be the beginning of Joshua, underneath the binding of an 18th-century book while searching through photographs of manuscripts. Father Justin, the monastery's librarian, said they would use scanners to find out how much of the fragment is under the newer book binding. More at The Independent.

Alien Body?

Unknown Country has posted preliminary findings on an 'alien' that was found by a farmer in Metepec, Mexico in 2007. UFO researcher Jaime Maussan has told the website that the body is real, but tests have revealed the creature's DNA is unknown to scientists. The creature has anatomical structures similar to both humans and reptiles, he said.
