Canadian couple, Chris Ansell and Kathleen Kirby, reported witnessing four starlike lights over Mount Benson (in Nanaimo, British Columbia) on Christmas Day. According to the two, glowing orange spheres zigzagged across the sky, then turned green and disappeared upwards. Ansell and Kirby snapped a few photos before the unidentified objects vanished and hope the images will lead to an explanation of their sighting. More details at Canada.com.
A mysterious pink snow left residents of Hilltown, Pennsylvania scratching their heads just hours before the arrival of 2010. Police Officer Matthew Reiss even contacted the Federal Aviation Administration to see if the rose-colored substance could have fallen from an airplane. Further investigation revealed the pink snow, also known as 'watermelon snow,' was likely caused by an algae called Chlamydomonas nivalis.
