Floating Rock

Andy Price said levitation was not possible and I said it was. For proof he demanded I levitate myself off the ground for 60 seconds. I said that was to easy as I am only 225 lb. I told him to keep an eye on the 7 thousand lb rock. I raised the rock up 4 feet off the ground and began to move it up the hill. Naturally he could not believe his eyes and while jabbering about needing proof or no one would believe him he raised his camera and took this picture.

I said picture or not no one will believe you. Still, he insisted I send this to you. You can call it Rippie's believe it or not, floating Rock. Andy wonders if the picture can be used for proof of what he saw. Andy@thelastchurch.org if you want to talk to him.

thelastchurch.org if you want to see things you can't prove by the power of sight alone, come on over to the The Last Church site. A preacher is the blind leading the blind in our book so don't come looking for Sunday school!

A number of readers questioned the veracity of the levitation description. Here is a sampling:

What a lovely picture of two rocks, one dark and the other lower and closer to the camera. The lower casting a shadow underneath it. This is definitely not a shadow but an outcropping of another rock. --Gary

You can see that the rock is still sitting on the ground; the 'shadow' beneath it has been added to the photo. The fake shadow doesn't even correspond with the positions of any other shadows in the photo!... --bossmnky

I have some pretty good software that I used on the current picture on the C2C web site which I usually use for ufo picture analysis. The supposed floating stone is not floating at all. Note a small shadow on the left of the stone showing its true proximity to the ground. The blackened area that appears to be a shadow is not a shadow, but just a darkened area maybe caused by soil, a burn or something put there to simulate shadow. There is also a little plant growing up against the stone (bottom right of the stone) I believe that this picture is a mere optical illusion. --Mr. Kim Shaffer
