Streamlink's Live Chat on Tuesday night. Below are excerpts from the Q & A; members can view the
entire transcript.
Guest
Ian, how long have you been in broadcasting?
Ian Punnett
In 2009 it will be 35 years. How weird is that?
Georgia
Hey Ian, when you lived in Atlanta did you ever eat at The Majestic Diner or visit The Claremont?
Ian Punnett
Yeah, baby. The Claremont is a trick question though. That's a seedy strip-joint with sticky floors and uncomfortable champagne rooms. Er, at least, that's what my mother told me.
CaliPI
What was your mother doing there?
Ian Punnett
She wasn't a dancer anymore. Bouncer.
Kickup
Ian, are you on the pulpit at your church?
Ian Punnett
Preaching this Sunday, actually. The Gospel text is John 18 and I'm struggling with it as we speak.
Bonesteel Blog
I'm in Savannah GA now. Ever visit? Most haunted city in America.
Ian Punnett
Been in Savannah many times. Love the little town squares. I just finished off a bag of pipe tobacco I bought there two years ago this summer. Lahvely town, as we would say in the South.
trus1
Hey Ian, what's the scoop with you and George interviewing each other?
Ian Punnett
We're trying to keep the paparazzi off the trail. We're really dating.
Math Whiz
Ian, how has doing this show changed you? Has it changed your core beliefs?
Ian Punnett
Not my core beliefs because as I've always said, I will think about a lot of stuff but I reserve "belief" for a special short list… Other than that the show has made me swarthier.
Bonesteel Blog
I have noticed that your "swarthiness" has increased. I hear you say "ARRRRHHH" a lot more than you used to.
Raymond - TX
What do your parishioners think of you hosting a show about UFOs, ghosts, etc...Have any of them given you any problems?
Ian Punnett
Sssshhhh. They think I run a Victoria's Secret.
Georgia
HA! Ian, if your mumma danced at the Claremont, I'm sure she was "the pretty one". And the young one. Even if it was recently.
Ian Punnett
Fraid not. Then again, at the Claremont, the woman with the large dueling scar was considered the pretty one. I mean, that's what I heard at church.
CaliPI
Ian, have you ever interviewed Jim Marrs or read any of his books?
Ian Punnett
Sure, I have chatted with Jim a lot. Love "Rule by Secrecy." I don't think he was so happy with our last conversation but I love his specialties.
trus1
How about your favorite guest? and, who would you MOST like to interview?
Ian Punnett
My favorite guest is the one I'm talking to at the time! He shoots and scores!
RoxyanneYoung
You've been doing a lot of war-ish shows lately, back with the rogue submarine show, and lately the Iran ambush topic, all a bit unnerving and thought-provoking. What is your favorite show subject matter?
Ian Punnett
I love the combo of what we do. A couple weeks in a row doing classic C2C topics and then an off-speed pitch night like the one we're working on with Harry Shearer or Styx coming up.
Shawn
What are your thoughts on James Gilliland? I stayed at his ranch for a day while up in Washington a couple months back, and sure enough, we saw UFOs.
Ian Punnett
I liked him when I had him on. I saw one of his videotapes and that was pretty cool. Other than that, he's gotten some bad press.
Kickup
Who's your favorite comedian, Ian?
Ian Punnett
Michael "Kramer" Rich---no, wait. I'm really big on Wanda Sykes right now. Loved her HBO special.
Georgia
Wanda Sykes is awesome- been a favorite of mine for years.
trus1
Ever watch Sarah Silverman? She's a hoot. Very irreverent.
Ian Punnett
I'm a very big fan of hers but I haven't seen her do stand up, just funny stuff with Jimmy Kimmel and stuff.
CAtONineTails
Hiya Ian-- Have you had a chance to see Borat, and if so, what did you think of it?
Ian Punnett
Borat was an enormously guilty pleasure. Laughed so hard the back of my throat hurt. My twin six year old girls were a little confused but it was good time to teach them about "daddy stuff."
Bonesteel Blog
You do a spot on Beavis. It's like he's right there at the microphone. Definitely try to work it into the show more...randomly, for no reason. Or use it the next time JC calls.
Ian Punnett
JC doesn't call me enough. Wonder why. By the way, I really don't have twin six year old girls.
Bonesteel Blog
IAN, you're supposed to wait for the backlash and THEN admit that you didn't take two six year olds to Borat. Smarten up man!
Ian Punnett
Jewish guilt. Oy.
NorskVik
Ian, Saturday night now has new meaning. I get the C2C mp3 downloads so I have to wait until Sunday to here the show. But I get to listen to them more then once since they are on mp3. Do you keep copies of your shows?
Ian Punnett
I have two copies of C2C shows. One with Art and Fr. Malachi Martin and me and Katherine Ramsland from six years ago.
NorskVik
How did you get into radio and why?
Ian Punnett
First I kind of rolled it up into a ball leaving just enough room to get my toes into, then my whole left foot and then my right. And then I stand up and smooth it out over my legs as I pull up the control top panel all the way to my waist. Then I just sort of dance around until it fits right. Why? Because they make me feel pretty. Wait, I just see that you wrote, "how did I get into radio." I thought you said, "pantyhose." Please disregard.

World Famous comic Emo Phillips once said: "The toughest time...in anyone's life...is when you have to kill a loved one just because they're the devil." Do you tend to agree?
Ian Punnett
He was one the funniest guys I've ever interviewed. It was a morning show and he came over, straight out of bed, in his feety-pajamas and terrible bedhead… But no, I've never had a problem killing another human when it is justified.
Kickup
Ian, if you could time travel to the future, where would you go and why?
Ian Punnett
I want to go to the end of time, just before the Big Bang or Big Whimper ends it all, record what happens, come back to the present and write down my "prophecy" and get all this amazing credit for being such a great psychic for about five seconds and then lights out.
