Henry Bauer is Austrian by birth, Australian by education, and American by choice. His career has been in universities, first as an electrochemist, then as a Dean of Arts & Sciences, and finally as an historian-sociologist-philosopher of science, a relatively new interdisciplinary field known as science studies .
