Jonathan Goldman

Biography:

Jonathan Goldman is a writer, musician and teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Film Making from Boston University and a Master's Degree in the Independent Study on Sound Healing from Lesley University. He is the director of the Sound Healers Association and president of Spirit Music.

Jonathan is also the author of several books and has written numerous articles on the therapeutic and transformational uses of sound. As an internationally acknowledged Master Teacher and award winning composer, Jonathan facilitates Healing Sounds Seminars at universities, hospitals, holistic health centers and expos throughout the United States and Europe. For over 25 years, Jonathan Goldman has worked with expanding awareness of the power of sound for healing and transformation. Recently, his focus has expanded to the use of sound to affect and enhance global consciousness.

Jonathan Goldman (healingsounds), a musician and authority on sound healing, discussed how harmonics can influence or change a person's physical, mental or spiritual state. Harmonics or multiple tones are like the "color of sound" or "the sounds within sounds," and can resonate in specific ways with the body, brain and mind, he explained. A variety of excerpts from his sound pieces were played during the show, and Goldman offered commentary on them. For instance, the ambient track from Celestial Reiki 2 which contains the sounds of birds, waterfalls, flute music and chanting, has been used on cancer wards for relaxation and to help relieve pain, he said. In the selection from Celestial Yoga, which he noted is conducive to a meditative state, voices sang harmonics into quartz crystals.
