Brian Greene received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his doctorate from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He joined the physics faculty of Cornell University in 1990, was appointed to a full professorship in 1995, and in 1996 joined Columbia University where he is professor of physics and mathematics. He has lectured at both a general and a technical level in more than twenty-five countries and is widely regarded for a number of groundbreaking discoveries in superstring theory. He lives in Andes, New York, and New York City.

Exopolitics, ETs & the Vatican |
|
| Tuesday May 13, 2008 |
In a special evening on the subject of 'exopolitics,' several guests reacted to the Vatican's comments about aliens (see below), and the UK's release of UFO files. In the second hour, UFO journalist Paola Harris noted the quotes that Rev. Funes made were likely sanctioned by the Vatican, and they may be preparing us for something. Richard C. Hoagland also joined in, speculating that NASA's upcoming press conference may reveal an important astronomical discovery. In the third hour, researcher Dr. Michael Salla suggested the Vatican's comments on alien life were significant, especially following on the heels of a UN meeting on the ET presence in February, which he said called for more openness amongst countries. Known for his work in Canadian exopolitics, Alfred Webre appeared in the latter half of this hour. He believes the Vatican may be reevaluating cases deemed Virgin Mary miracles such as the Fatima incidents, and possibly considering them as UFO encounters. In the last hour

One of the world's leading physicists, Brian Greene discussed Einstein's legacy, the nature of time and space, quantum physics, and the theory of everything."We still do not know how the universe began," Greene stated, describing the realm from which our universe emerged as "spaceless and timeless" -- a place where our current understanding of physics breaks down. Greene believes discovering a unified theory of the universe, something he said Einstein worked to find even on his deathbed, could help us understand how it all began.Greene suggested quantum computers, which would be exponentially faster than conventional computers, may one day help us find the elusive unified theory. Such knowledge, he thought, could eventually allow mankind to manipulate space and time, and possibly even "bend space" to instantaneously travel from one point in the universe to another.Greene also talked about the existence of life in the universe, UFOs, and time travel. According to
