Don Herbert (Mr. Wizard) conceived and wrote the 'Watch Mr. Wizard' show that first aired on National Television in 1951 on NBC.

Author and metaphysicist Robert Bruce returned to the show to share his knowledge and expertise on the subject of astral projection. In discussing induction techniques to leave one's body, he suggested practicing deep relaxation in a 37 degree horizontal position. One might feel their self getting heavier and then imagine climbing up a rope or a ladder, he suggested. This helps to "exteriorize your astral body," at which point you might feel sensations of spinning and vibrations. There are number of astral dimensions or levels, said Bruce, with the first being a kind of "buffer zone" which is experienced as though one were a ghost traveling in the real world. Beyond that lie higher dimensions, he explained, describingsome of his encounters with unusual beings who inhabit these realms.
