Leir described the removed object (see Alien Implant Photos below) as a magnetic, metallic rod, 6mm in length with distinctive groove lines. Scanning electronic microscopy and x-ray diffraction tests revealed the implant was composed primarily of iron with an amorphous structure, which Leir said was odd for something that was highly magnetic. Global Warming & Ice Melt Down

Friday March 17, 2006

In the first half of Friday's program, reporter and editor of Earthfiles.com, Linda Moulton Howe discussed global warming and the world's melting glaciers, as well as conversed with listeners on a variety of other topics.According to Linda's report, 2005 was the hottest year in modern human history. By the end of the century temperatures could be higher by 3 to 10 degrees F, she said. The increasing temperatures and record levels of CO2 are contributing to a faster than predicted ice meltdown, Linda explained, which is causing sea levels to rise. As evidence, Linda shared her interview with Dr. Jason Box, who said Greenland is contributing significantly to higher sea levels and should temperatures increase further, the melting of Greenland's glaciers could be irreversible.Linda also provided information about new satellite data that shows Antarctic ice is melting at the rate of 36 cubic miles a year. Taken by DigitalGlobe's QuickBird satellite, the photo was analyzed by first hour guest Porcher Taylor who noted the striking nautical form. The length of the anomaly is 1,015 feet which he said corresponds with the dimensions cited in Genesis, and radar confirms that it's not a shadow effect. In the second hour, Richard Rives of the Wyatt Museum suggested that the size of the anomalous boat-shaped form did not match the measurements as specified in the Bible. He believes that a more likely candidate for Noah's Ark is in a different location of Mount Ararat. He and the late Ron Wyatt visited the site in 1990 and retrieved various types of physical evidence. During the first half of Friday's program, Art Bell talked with Dr. Roy Spencer (ecoenquirer.com - environmental satire/fake news) about climate change and Jim Hansen, the climate scientist who claims to have been censored by NASA because of his views on global warming. Spencer, who has worked with NASA for the last 20 years, disagreed with Hansen's hypothesis that mankind is mostly responsible for global climate change, though he suggested that man's activity could account for as much as half. The rest can be explained by natural cycles, Spencer said.He pointed out that natural circulation shifts are probably to blame for the melting of the North Polar ice caps. Spencer also commented on last year's record-breaking hurricane season, which was likely the result of "rapid deepening cycles" rather than anything man has done to the climate, he remarked. Spencer expressed skepticism about what we could know about past climates by studying ice core samples, and said 'feedbacks' have ... More

Cameras attached to the rockets later verified that strange "flying discs" were in the launch vicinity. These discs were officially classified as "enemy weapons systems," Linda explained, and routinely targeted by anti-aircraft artillery fire.In a recorded interview, Kissner revealed that the flying discs retaliated against the attacks by bringing down hundreds of civilian and military airplanes -- all of which crashed in a short period in the summer of 1947 and in the months afterward. Art Bell led off a night of special Open Lines by reading from an article titled The Long Emergency in which James Howard Kunstler ponders America's problematic fate when it runs out of its cheap gas supply. Art then posed a number of questions for callers to consider, which included: Do you believe the oil crisis is real or a conspiracy? At what pump price would your current lifestyle be unsustainable? Would you steal or kill to feed your family?Callers were split on whether the oil crisis is genuine or contrived. Philadelphia Experiment & Montauk

Thursday February 24, 2005

In the middle two hours of the show Al Bielek revisited his claim that he participated in the Philadelphia Experiment aboard the USS Eldridge in 1943 as a man named Edward Cameron. The experiment to make the ship invisible misfired, he explained, because the donut-shaped electrical field that was generated had a hole in it. Exactly forty years later, an experiment was being conducted at a secret government facility in Montauk, NY using alien technology to cause a rift in the time field, Bielek continued. It was through this rift that he said he traveled from the Eldridge to Montauk and back again. In the 1950's, he said the government shrunk Cameron down to the size of an infant (because he knew too much) and he was given to the Bielek family.Bielek stated that while at Montauk he traveled via a wormhole to Mars which he described as having numerous underground cities and huge military operations. Amazing Open Lines

In the first hour, reporter and editor for Earthfiles.com, Linda Moulton Howe, provided an update on the "mega-tsunami" potential of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma.According to geologist Dr. Simon Day, "it's almost certain" the 4-mile high Cumbre Vieja volcano will erupt this century, though no one knows how many eruptions will occur before it collapses into the ocean, triggering a "mega-tsunami" (see La Palma Simulation article below). The La Palma collapse could produce waves as high as a 15-story building that would reach North and South America within 8 to 11 hours, Day said. Read Linda's full report at Earthfiles.com.Linda also reported on the latest data from the Huygens probe that shows evidence for weather on Titan. Probing Titan's Mysteries

Friday January 14, 2005

During the first hour, planetary scientist David Grinspoon discussed the Huygens probe landing on Saturn's moon, Titan. He thinks the fact that the probe survived its descent may indicate the landing surface was liquid or icy slush. According to Grinspoon, "Titan is an active world" where it rains methane and, as recent photos show (see Huygens probe article below), liquid flows through drainage channels. He theorized that if Titan were warmed, it could prove to be an "incubator for life."In hour two of the program, George welcomed Richard C. Hoagland of Enterprise Mission, who admitted Titan "does not belong in the Saturn system." Because of its unique nature and the presence of "organic gunk" in its atmosphere and on its surface, Hoagland hypothesized that Titan was terraformed by an advanced alien race. In his live Christmas Eve broadcast, George hosted a night of Open Lines, with a special topic line devoted to miracle stories, as well as discussed angels with author Rosemary Ellen Guiley during the first two hours of the show.Guiley described two angelic falls recorded in the Scriptures: one attributed to Lucifer, another when the "sons of God" (mentioned in Genesis 6:4) married human women and had children, producing giant hybrid offspring called nephilim. She said God charged the archangels with punishing the "sons of God," and ultimately sent a great flood to destroy the nephilim. Noah, who was spared during the flood, may have been of angelic or extra-terrestrial origin, Guiley suggested.Guiley believes everyone has a guardian angel, and said there could be a "host of angels around us" in human form. Warmkessel theorized that Venus' climate and surface were transformed by a disastrous cometary impact, and the same thing could happen to Earth. According to him, the next big comet strike will hit Canada in the year 2044 and set off the Yellowstone super-volcano.Warmkessel also discussed Noah's Ark and the Great Flood, which he thinks may have been caused by a comet swarm impacting Earth. Inspired by the 1958 western The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca, George Noory hosted five hours of Open Lines featuring a "Nine Lives" special topic line for callers who, like Elfego Baca, have nine lives. George was especially interested in learning how many lives people thought they had already used up.Wendell from Phoenix purportedly used one of his nine lives while cutting through live high voltage wires. He said he saw a flash of light, his cutters were instantly welded to the wire conduit, and he was pushed back about 15 feet. Another caller told George she had been struck twice by lightning and could "smell death" around her. A trucker named Kenneth recounted using up three of his lives: one when he was electrocuted by 15,000 volts (which left him "dead" for four minutes), and two more for truck accidents. An interesting call came in from David of Bristol, Connecticut, who claimed to have developed the ability to remote view. During one session, he reported visiting a ... More

Election Eve Show

Monday November 1, 2004

During the first half-hour, investigative journalist Bev Harris shared information she has uncovered about the possibility that voting tallies could be tampered with by computer hackers. The problem can be alleviated if precincts deliver their results by car rather than sending them over a modem, she said. Further details on this issue are posted on her website.Later in the hour, author Howard Bloom offered commentary on the recent Osama bin Laden videotape and the election. He also theorized that the correlation between the Washington Redskins victory and the presidential election may be related to testosterone levels. The remaining three hours of the show were reserved forOpen Lines, where callers shared their predictions and thoughts about what the next four years hold in store for America and the world. ... Ghost-to-Ghost 2004

Sunday October 31, 2004

Brendan Cook of Ghost Investigators Society joined host Art Bell at the top of the show to help introduce a recording Cook obtained from a journalist in Croatia. The tape, produced by Metascience Foundation under the direction of Dr. George W. Meeks, describes the SPIRICOM -- a device which uses tones and vibrations to allow two-way communication between the living and the dead. Art suggested the experiments of Metascience Foundation provide "hard evidence" of an afterlife. (See also the Talking with the Dead sidebar.)At the conclusion of the SPIRICOM tape, Art took calls from people who've been attacked by entities. Several callers shared tales of nightmarish molestations at the "hands" of unseen assailants. Gene from Arizona described a time during his childhood when an entity came through the wall of his den and grabbed his ankles, pulling him toward wall. He escaped, but was left with bruises as a reminder of the encounter. Gregory from New York said a malevolent spirit pin ... More

Ghostly Tales

Friday October 29, 2004

George welcomed special guest Hilly Rose (email) to the show Friday night. Hilly discussed UFOs, ghosts, and sat in with George for Open Lines, which featured a special Halloween hotline for callers who had spooky tales to tell.Hilly shared a chilling ghost story he received via email earlier in the week. The author of the note, Scott L., said while making his late night rounds at the mall, he discovered a radio had been left on. After shutting it off and continuing his rounds, he came back to find the radio playing again and saw a ghostly figure dressed in white wedding gown. The apparition looked at him, smiled and disappeared. Matt from California recounted the time when he was a teenager that an angry entity knocked him down. Another caller reported that her 3-year-old daughter refused to enter her bedroom because of a ghost named Ricky and his three friends. Ghost Stories & More

Friday October 22, 2004

Open Lines started with a bang when Dodie Crain, mother of famed Area 51 microbiologist Dan Burisch, called into the show to set a few things straight. Crain said she has not been allowed to see her son since October 5, 1993. She confirmed that Burisch worked at Area 51 and interacted with an alien during his time there. Crain said her son would often return from Area 51 afraid and looking "as white as a sheet." According to Crain, Burisch received an injection in his neck in 1993 that altered his personality and "confused" his memory. George also opened a "Backseat Ghost" hotline for anyone who ever had a ghostly figure accompany them in a car. A caller who lives in a cemetery recounted the time during a lonely ride home she saw the silhouette of a person sitting in the backseat of her car. The "passenger" vanished, but she was so chilled to the bone that she turned on her car's heater. Another caller said she saw three featureless "dark forms" sitting in her car's bac ... More

Friday October 15, 2004

During the first two hours of Friday night's show, mad scientist and TV horror host Dr. Morgus (a.k.a Momus Alexander Morgus) discussed all things "scientific," as well as offered some "Morgusian" solutions to caller questions.Morgus said his parents were scientists, so science "bubbles out of [his] skin." He claims to come from a long line of scientists, stretching back 4,380 years to Morgus the First, master architect of the great pyramid. According to Morgus, the great pyramid was built by the "higher order" as a celestial observatory to expand human knowledge. Interestingly, Morgus noted that his laboratory in the Old City Ice House in New Orleans is located on the same parallel as the great pyramid.Ever the humble intellectual, Morgus alleges to have mastered differential calculus by age five and estimated his IQ to be somewhere in the 300s. He claims to have created the Internet (later stolen by the Pentagon), invented the cell phone, coined the phrase "outside th ... More

John Titor Update

Friday October 8, 2004

During Friday night's show, Oliver Williams provided an update on alleged time traveler John Titor. According to Williams, John Titor traveled to our present in a machine built by GE in 2034 (photos). Titor claimed the technological cornerstones of his time machine would soon be discovered. In a March 13, 2001 Internet posting he wrote:"The 'machine' with the energy to do it will come on-line very soon. The 'method' for doing it has already been 'mostly' perfected in the Z machine at the National lab in New Mexico."Williams cited recently published articles on the Z Machine and Desktop Atom-Smashers as evidence of Titor's claims. He also said Titor recieved much criticism when he suggested Stephen Hawking's theory that black holes destroy everything that fall into them was incorrect. Hawking has since revised his black hole hypothesis, allowing now for what Titor claimed was the basis of time travel.Williams also referred to an article in Rochester Magazine about the IB ... More

The Graveyard Shift

Friday September 24, 2004

A special hotline was devoted to people who've had unusual experiences at cemeteries. There was Bill from Oklahoma, who recounted his Grandmother's Dust Bowl days, when she lived next to a cemetery and saw spirits dancing by a well. A caller from outside Sioux City, Iowa said he lived near homesteader graves dating back to the Indian conflict with the settlers. He described hearing a baby cry in the middle of the night and later witnessed a teenage girl holding an infant just before she walked right through a wall. A night watchman at a cemetery also called in, and said he sees Shadow People every other night. He traipsed through the graveyard live on the air, and read the names off a few headstones. We also heard from T.J., an "archaeologist/parapsychologist" who told of finding a 65-million-year-old artifact that contained Gaelic-like writing. Spirit Children

Friday September 3, 2004

The first two hours of Friday's program featured Kathleen McConnell (book) discussing her experiences with the spirit children who lived in the attic of her historic home, Fontaine Manse (1871). Shortly after moving into the large brick, three-story house, McConnell and her husband were awakened from sleep one night when their home's inner doors began opening and slamming shut on their own. Other odd occurrences, such as missing shoes, mysterious footsteps, and the sound of a bouncing basketball, convinced McConnell that Fontaine Manse was also home to spirit children.McConnell said she actually witnessed a little girl standing in her nursery window, holding up three fingers. She believes the spirit was telling her that a total of three entities dwelled in the house. Curiously, after consulting a Ouija board with a friend, one of McConnell's sons informed her that three children had died there in 1900 of Scarlet Fever.During her time at Fontaine Manse, McConnell says the spirit ... Friday's first hour guest, reporter and editor Linda Moulton Howe of Earthfiles.com presented a report on asteroid 4179 Toutatis, which is going to pass close to Earth on September 29, 2004. Linda described Toutatis as a large asteroid, measuring 4.6 km long by 2.4 km wide, in a chaotic orbit that crosses Earth's own orbit. According to asteroid specialist Tim Spahr, "there is no chance" of Toutatis coming close enough to impact Earth. Spahr said within 10 years astronomers will have found more than 95% of the one kilometer near-Earth asteroids, and they'll know exactly where each will be for the next 100 years. Linda also discussed the adverse affects of global warming on plants and animals. She said recent European and American studies have concluded that the average temperatures in Europe could climb between 3.6° and 11.3° Fahrenheit by the end of this century. Sunday August 22, 2004

Art dedicated this Sunday night for Open Lines and reserved one line for 'Time Travelers.' One such caller said he came from the 1970's where through his experimentation with "electromagnetic frequencies" he stumbled upon the ability to travel into the future. He said his travels are bound by a set of rules overseen by an elite group and that occasionally problems arise when he gets "stuck in a magnetic stream." Another caller to this line said he had been involved in time travel experiments as a government employee and that he suffered from medical problems because of it. "Accelerated time," in which, for instance a 3-hour experience could be felt as one hour, is a related area the government is studying he said.A third caller related a curious tale of meeting a 'time traveler' in Las Vegas who told him to gamble at the Flamingo "at the table right in front of me." Friday August 20, 2004

During the middle two hours of the program, author Riley Martin discussed his experiences aboard a mothership near Saturn and his interactions with an alien race called the Biaviians. He said the recent photos taken by the Cassini spacecraft of a brightly illuminated object above Saturn show the alien mothership he visited on several occasions.Martin's story began in Northeastern Arkansas in 1953 when, according to him, he saw lights in the sky above the St. Francis River. Martin claims to have heard voices calling him to the river one night, where he witnessed two beings descending from a spaceship. The aliens, called Tan and Nela, brought Martin aboard their craft and took him to a mothership orbiting near Saturn. Martin described the mothership as 40 km (28 mi) across with domed gardens and powered by "hydrogen-fed fusion cores."Martin said the Biaviian civilization is located 450 light years from earth, but the aliens can travel that distance in a mere 4 1/2 years. During the first two hours of Friday's show, reporter and editor Linda Moulton Howe of Earthfiles.com gave an update on the Dan Burisch case.Dan Burisch claims to have received telepathic messages from a time traveling extraterrestrial called J-Rod. According to Burisch, the J-Rods have serious medical problems that will cause their eventual extinction and have journeyed back to Earth to fix a "time problem" in our present, the J-Rods distant past. Alien Abduction Update

Monday May 31, 2004

Prof. David M. Jacobs gave an update on alien abduction and ufology during the first half of the program. Calling UFOs virtual "abduction machines," he said that the aliens' global program has grown exponentially since it began sometime in the late 19th century. Based on witness testimony, often gleaned through hypnosis, Jacobs believes the purpose of the abductions has been to create a race of hybrids. "We're looking at an integration program," in which the hybrids will be placed into our society serving as "surrogates" for the aliens, he postulated. Jacobs, who said his next book will be on the methodology of UFO investigation, discussed some of the difficulties involved with hypnotic testimony. He said a skilled hypnotist must be able to sort out "the signal from the noise" and recognize confabulation, as well as avoid making testimony conform to any specific agenda. Interestingly, Jacobs suggested that the US government is not paying attention to the abduction phenomenon beca ... More

It was the "best thing that ever happened to me," he said, explaining that the violent incident set him on the path of changing his life for the better. In other Open Lines calls, a man related his "Vision Quest," where he experienced himself as a giant scorpion in a battle with a dragon. Another caller told of seeing the Phoenix Lights, and then being severely harassed by Arizona law enforcement, who eventually claimed they were looking for someone who stole a "potted plant." The caller suspected the officers may have actually been "Men in Black," attempting to intimidate him after he witnessing a UFO. ... More

Trucker Hotline

Friday March 5, 2004

During Friday's Open Lines truckers were invited to call in and relate unusual occurrences. Among the callers, was a trucker who heard a strange creature hissing at him from a tree. Another trucker related seeing an odd mist that contained an Indian on a horse, but that the image dissipated when he shined a flashlight on it. A couple of callers shared their psychic visions, including a man who said he had a premonition dream of 9-11, and also saw "bloody Euro coins" raining from the sky. Kimberly, who claimed to have 99% accuracy in her psychic perceptions, said she had been have disturbing dreams about airports, and singled out Dulles Airport as a possible terrorist target. George also played an excerpt from a tape of an actual exorcism sent in by Shirley of Phoenix, who was attempting to have demons removed from her. Martian Reports

Friday February 20, 2004

Investigator Linda Moulton Howe (earthfiles.com), the guest for the first half of Friday's show, offered reports on some of the strange findings of the Mars rovers. She interviewed Geology Prof. Ronald Greeley about puzzling filaments found laying in the soil grains on Meridiani Planum. Greeley suggested they could be related to the "fibrous things that can form in minerals like asbestos." Linda also played portions of her interview with Steve Squyers, thePrincipal Investigator on the Mars Rover Missions, who informed her that neither rover had any instruments aboard that were capable of detecting whether there were organic substances in the soil. The missions, were strictly to determine whether there was past water on the planet, said Squyers, who became irate when pressed with further questions about the possibility of organic elements. Superstitions

Friday February 13, 2004

Charles Reichbloom (website), the author of the Knowledge in a Nutshell® book series, discussed the origins of various superstitions. A number of "bad luck" superstitions such as Friday the 13th and stepping under a ladder, stem from religious connotations, he said. Seeing a black cat cross, got its bad rap, because during the Middle Ages, witches were thought to be able to assume the form of a feline, said Reichbloom, though he noted that to the Egyptians cats were considered lucky. Reichbloom also delved into good luck superstitions. A rabbit's foot is considered lucky because rabbits multiply so rapidly, thus the foot is a token of fertility. The tradition of knocking on wood comes from Indians he said, who would touch trees to ward off bad luck, because trees were struck by lightning and thus connected to the Sky God."We're afraid to defy these superstitions," said Reichbloom, because people would rather not take a chance, and that is why many of these traditions have lasted ... Mirror Visions

Friday February 6, 2004

An Open Lines special topic of strange things seen in a mirror elicited some interesting calls. One man said his face became disfigured into an alien species and the background changed to a red desert planet with two moons in the sky. Another caller described seeing a strange figure in a dressing room mirror that was not a reflection of anyone present, and the figure was staring at him. Callers also reported sharing identical dreams and having recurring nightmares. In one such call, a man said as a boy he had harsh nightmares always featuring the same elderly woman in a plaid skirt, and these dreams bled over into his waking states, causing "distortions." The woman appeared to want something, but would never articulate what it was. ... More

Ghost Investigations

Friday January 30, 2004

Friday's guest for the entire show was Terri Hendry, a news anchor from KOLO-TV in Reno. She shared details of her ghost investigations that she has conducted for the TV station, as well as reacted to callers' ghost and "Old Hag" stories. Unknown voices found on Hendry's video footage were played on the air. A female voice said, "Hi Charles," followed by "Molly, who are they?" Hendry also discussed a spirit cleansing she attended at the Washoe Saloon in Virginia City. Psychics said that one malicious entity refused to leave. Curiously, after this event Hendry had a number of inexplicable events happen at her home, such as items seemingly being moved on their own. She began to wonder if the spirit haunting the bar, might have followed her home. "You have to be open to it," Hendry said of the ghost experiences. People that are total disbelievers and don't show respect in these situations tend to shut off the possibility of the phenomena, she explained. For more details of her in ... More

Speaking with the Dead

Friday January 23, 2004

Friday's show featured a special topic hotline, for people that "speak with the dead." One woman told a tale of eating a hamburger with her father in a truck stop, knowing full well that he was in spirit form. Another caller talked about how the ability to speak with the deceased ran in her family. A Canadian caller spoke about her friend, who had the ability to communicate with those who had passed over, and offered this service as a comfort to people who had lost loved ones. What Open Lines show would be complete without a Ouija board story? A man told of using the board with a female co-worker, and how the pointer seemed to be moving of its own accord. It warned that there was going to be a murder in the future. The man lost touch with the woman over the years, but in speaking with his old employer, he found out that the woman's daughter had been murdered. She was buried alive in the desert, he said. ... Martian Update

Friday January 9, 2004

Richard C. Hoagland of Enterprise Mission, the guest for the first half of Friday's show, discussed the latest information about Mars. He touched on the controversy of NASA changing the color of images sent back from the planet (a listener sent in this "color corrected" image), which he said was done as a distraction to keep people from the real issue—that there are artifacts on the surface.Commenting on some preliminary remote sensing results that found carbonates in the Martian soil, Hoagland said this was an indication of past water, and that the Spirit Rover had landed in a "dry lakebed." He expressed surprise that NASA was asking for students to send in rocks from around the world for comparison studies, leading him to surmise that they were finding unusual compositions on Mars that had no matches.Hoagland also discussed Pres. Bush's upcoming space initiative which he heard would include a plan that would combine robotics with a manned crew in trips to Mars and the ... More

UFO Cases

Friday December 19, 2003

The first half of Friday's show featured Peter Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center who brought on two representatives from MUFON, Kenny Young (website) and Donnie Blessing, to discuss a recent case that took place in Morehead, Kentucky. Young said he tracked down a witness to the event, a psychologist, who told him he saw a white oval-shaped light in the sky that was flying erratically. He and his two sons witnessed the craft descending on a field across from their house, where it appeared to turn "blood red," in color and grow in size, before it "shot off like a dart" to the west. Dogs throughout the neighborhood began barking furiously during the descent, he said. Then, shortly after this incident, they heard "blood curdling" screams of a woman coming from the field, calling out "help me," and "oh my God." Young played a tape of a separate witness making a 911 call reporting the screams. The local Police and Fire Dept. searched the area, but did not find any trace ... More

Alien Implant Removal Surgery

Friday December 5, 2003

"I've got to tell you, this was very fascinating," said George Noory, who earlier in the day had attended an "alien implant" removal operation, that was overseen by Dr. Roger Leir (alienscalpel.com), the guest for the first half of Friday's show. Brenda, the patient who had the implant, told George that over the years she had spotted entities in her bedroom, and had had one particularly haunting encounter with a winged humanoid who floated 5ft. off the ground. Dental X-rays eventually revealed the implant which was embedded in the cheek area under her eye. The operation, of which an audio portion was played on the show, proved to be difficult, Dr. Leir said, as the implant seemed to move every time they attempted to dislodge it. Leir and his associates were aided by the use of a fluoroscan, which allowed them to view the small metallic object during the procedure."Thank God for that," said Brenda after the removal of the foreign object which was found to be 3-4mm in leng ... Earthquake Prediction

Friday November 21, 2003

The first half of Friday's program featured geologist and earthquake predictor Jim Berkland (syzygyjob.org) who said we are just about to enter a "seismic window," i.e. a period of greater likelihood for quake activity. Correlated with the start of the new moon, he said a 140 mile range from both San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as the Oregon and Washington coasts would be particularly susceptible. Discussing his study of increased missing animal reports that are made before major quakes, Berkland recommended the book When the Snakes Awake by Helmut Tributsch, that also draws a connection between animal behavior and quake prediction. There is evidence that major solar flares could be another correlate, and Berkland noted some large quakes had occurred within a short space of time after X-class activity on the sun. Eclipses, such as the one next week, are also associated with increased earthquake risk he said. ... More

Comets & Solar Flares

Friday November 7, 2003

Much of the current solar activity "is caused by comets approaching the sun," said maverick physicist James McCanney (website) who was the guest for the first half of Friday's show. He believes that an entourage of minor planet-sized objects have been bombarding the sun, and as evidence for this, he has gathered various visual data on this page on his website. Further, he suggested that SOHO astronomers may have been keeping such information under wraps. McCanney said that it would difficult to draw a one-to-one correlation between geologic activity at Yellowstone and the recent outbursts from the sun. But statistically, he pointed out, there is a relationship between volcanism and solar flares. He theorized that there may be numerous "Planet X"-sized objects that make their way into our solar system over millennia as indigenous legends have described, and that our greatest worry may be debris streams that come from these objects during their passing. ... Ghost-to-Ghost

Friday October 31, 2003

Conducting a five-hour broadcast of caller's ghost stories on Halloween night, host Art Bell said the one thing he was convinced of is "there's got to be something more [after we die]." As the calls came in, some running themes emerged such as in the case of suicide, where ghosts seem to linger in their last locations. There were also numerous incidents in which ghosts or apparitions seemed to be sending a message to the living. Among the specific tales, some of which were generated by Art calling listeners who'd sent advance email descriptions to him, was a woman in Houston who felt an icy sensation move into her body and then heard mysterious poundings on the window. Bill, a nurse who works at a prison in Pennyslvania, described a repeated elevator tampering that was thought to be caused by a deceased wheelchair patient. "I saw my father's soul leave his body," said a man who described a tiny cloud of smoke that moved from his father's body and then dissipated over the door. ... More

Strange Universe

Friday October 24, 2003

"2003 is turning out to be a pivotal year for cosmologists," said investigator Linda Moulton Howe (earthfiles.com) who appeared during the first half of Friday's show. Reporting on data from NASA's microwave probe (WMAP), Linda said that only a small percentage of the universe is composed of matter such as stars, and the rest is made up of "dark energy" and "dark matter, " which could be thought of as transparent. Of visible matter, she said there is a "long green curved wall" that is composed of 252 million light years of galaxies clustered one after another, that curiously appear to be "herded" together by the dark matter. Could our universe, based on the WMAP information, be "akin to a clear Jell-O in which what we consider to be matter (worlds and stars) is simply embedded in this large transparent Jell-O?" she pondered. New UFO Cases

Friday October 17, 2003

Peter Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center presented new cases and witnesses during the first half of Friday's show. A truck driver named Ken described driving his 18-wheeler directly under a UFO near Council Bluffs, Iowa on 8/19/03. The hovering object contained an array of large disc-like lights on its underside and seemed to be trailing just slightly ahead of his truck, Ken said. Because it was moving at a relatively slow speed "clearly it's not an aerodynamic device," Davenport commented, indicating some other process was keeping the craft in the air. "Susan," a high-school principal, Davenport's second guest, related a dramatic sighting from her bedroom window overlooking Lake Washington that occurred on 9/18/03. Alerted by a swishing sound coming from the southern end of the lake, she witnessed a large soundless orb, "pinkish red in color," that was about 2/3 the size of the moon and moving in a horizontal pattern over the lake. Nocturnal Assaults

Friday September 26, 2003

Social Parapsychologist Elliott Madison of the White Crow Society differentiated standard sleep paralysis from Nocturnal or Old Hag assaults as the guest on the first half of Friday's show. Regular sleep paralysis, he said, is associated with hormones that suppress motor functions during the dream state, that haven't completely worn off upon awakening. And while the Old Hag Assaults were related to this condition, Madison believes these incidents in some ways defy a strictly medical interpretation. "She was like living death, white straw-like hair, one glowing eye…skin stretched over a skull," one caller described his encounter with the Hag. Such stereotypical descriptions of a small menacing humanoid run cross-culturally, leading Madison to conclude that the phenomenon is not related to hallucination or dreams which would show more variability. "There has to be some kind of an external trigger," that could include some type of paranormal explanation, he said. 90% of the Noct ... More

Flatwoods Monster UFO Case

Friday September 12, 2003

"It seemed to be a mechanical device, perhaps with an alien inside," said researcher Stanton Friedman (website). Friedman and fellow researcher Frank Feschino were discussing the fascinating Flatwoods Monster UFO case during the first half of Friday's show. Feschino commented that when the incident occurred, exactly 51 years ago in Braxton County, Virginia, there had been a UFO flap in the area, with some 20 sightings and a TV news account of a flaming object in the sky. What witnesses, a group of boys playing football, described as the "monster" was a strange thing about 10 feet high, which gave off a noxious smell that made them sick, and so they ran from it, Friedman recounted. (Click here to view Feschino's illustration of the object.) There was a vampire who said he was on the prowl on the street, but that he sucked energy rather than blood. A bartender from New Orleans told of an eloquent Goth vampire who startled him with his retractable fangs. Other intriguing calls included an artist who said she was "driven by outside forces," to create demonic "death drawings," which depicted such things as human/animal mixtures. In the three times she gave this type of art to other people, they all came to untimely ends shortly after getting her work. At a bonfire with friends in the South Missouri woods, a caller told of capturing a 4-ft. tall gray critter, that seemed more human than animal. Larry E. Arnold, the author of Ablaze!: The Mysterious Fires of Spontaneous Human Combustion was the guest for the first half of Friday's show. Discussing the gruesome but rare phenomenon of people inexplicably burning up while their surroundings remain undamaged, Arnold said he has collected over 400 case studies, going all the way back to the 14th century. In the case of Dr. John Bentley (pictured here), he said Bentley had unprecedented "5th degree burns," and his body was completely dehydrated. Arnold noted there was a cyclical pattern in his database, of cases peaking every 33 years, which he suggested may be due to high solar activity at those times. Some episodes might be associated with ball lightning or plasma material hitting the victims, he said. The SARS Fraud

Friday June 20, 2003

Investigative writer Jon Rappoport (nomorefakenews) presented some startling claims about SARS in the first half of Friday's show. These cases are actually misdiagnosed respiratory illnesses such as pneumonia, he added. "Research fraud" is being carried out Rappoport believes, and Canada and China have been singled out to suffer from these acts of "economic terrorism." Canada may have been a target because they didn't support the war in Iraq, he speculated. And Asia may have been chosen to put a dent in their burgeoning economy. Rappoport named The World Health Organization (WHO) as the perpetrators of this fraud. Planet X Theories

Friday May 16, 2003

Theoretical physicist James McCanney (website) appeared in the first half of Friday night's show to discuss his ideas about Planet X. While he doesn't subscribe to the notion that a rogue planet is headed this way in the next several weeks, he does believe there is evidence that extra solar objects do pass our way on occasion. McCanney theorizes that comets on elliptical orbits can gain in size as they draw in material with their electrical charge. "Hale Bopp had a nucleus the size of the moon," he said, explaining a scenario whereby comets can turn into virtual planets. McCanney correlated his data with other sources of information such as Hopi Indian prophecy, which refers to dramatic changes associated with the passage of objects (Kachinas) in the sky. According to one interpretation he received, the "Blue Kachina" could be Hale-Bopp (1996) and this was said to be followed by the "Red Kachina" in ten years or 2006, which McCanney surmised could be Planet X. ... Biting Open Lines

Friday May 9, 2003

During the second half of Friday's show the lines were snapping when George asked for tales of being bitten by animals or insects. One man reported being attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets as he drove his car at high speed along the highway. Stories about a biting cat, alligator, snake, monkey and bees also came in. Other intriguing calls included a story of a UFO that seemed to respond to the witness, a woman who was chased by a half-man half-goat creature coming out of a "Hell House," and an ex-Satanist who foresaw a great metaphysical battle occurring in the year 2012. ... Thrills and Chills

Friday May 2, 2003

It was a rollercoaster of chills and thrills on Friday's Open Lines. There was Ricky calling from his haunted mobile home, where a malevolent ghost had made its presence known, harassing his girlfriend. Meanwhile a young man from Sacramento complained of frightening waking dreams with a sinister red portal appearing in his bedroom mirror. Martine of San Francisco, intriguingly proposed her theory that angels actually inhabit dogs' bodies. And several psychic vampires called in on the special topic line, one explaining that "it's a necessity," for him to drain other's energy. Coast virtually turned into Cops, when a police officer named Kevin called in to relate a story of apprehending a hitchhiker who turned out to be bear. But as he was finishing up his tale, he witnessed a man pushing a new gas grill out of a closed home improvement store. He casually called in for back-up in order to arrest the would-be thief, all while giving an on-air commentary. "Ask him if he listens to Coa ... More

Here Comes X

Friday April 25, 2003

Alien contactee Nancy Lieder (zetatalk.com) joined George for the first half of Friday night's show with an update on Planet X, which she believes is drawing ever nearer to the Earth. She reports that X, which she also referred to as a "brown dwarf," can be seen in the night sky as a "red or orange blink—a diffused blotch," but that it's not bright like a star. She has set up a special page for Coast listeners to review the evidence and information she has assembled. Lieder, who transmitted messages from the Zetas (the aliens she claims to be in telepathic communication with) while she was on the air, said that between May 15 and June 1st of this year, Planet X's passage would lead to a week of rotation stoppage of the Earth. This would be followed by a cataclysmic pole shift, which would cause worldwide flooding and earthquakes of a magnitude 9 on the Richter scale. Callers to Nancy and the Zetas, included astronomer Phil Plait, who said her evidence was typical of "noise" tha ... More

Scary Happenings

Friday April 11, 2003

Scary Happenings was the theme of Friday night's Open Lines. One caller described the frightening experience of seeing a "pterodactyl" type bird with a 30 ft. wing span fly over his head, north of Boston ten years ago. "It seemed to come from a cloud," he said and its wings made a distinct flapping sound. A police officer also from Massachusetts told an eerie tale of answering a call for a DNR (do not resuscitate) case. The gentleman he spoke with pointed out the dead body, but when the officer returned to assist the paramedics he was shocked to see that the man who he had initially talked with was the dead body. Other creepy calls included the sighting of a werewolf, a tale of a bloody ritual stone, an account of a ghost with a penchant for tossing potted plants and an unexplained missing time case. ... More

Night Visitors

Friday April 4, 2003

Friday night's Open Lines were populated with stories of night visitors. For instance Lisa from Phoenix encountered a Shadow Person who snarled foul words at her in a foreign language (though he graciously vanished after she screamed at him to leave!). A border patrol officer named Charles, told a tale of a "witch" who haunted a New Mexico road that led into Mexico. She was an old woman always seen walking north around 3-4am. Charles doubted the tales until one time he saw her. And just as in the other stories, when he turned around for a second she had completely disappeared when he looked back. George opened a special line for callers who had experienced interventions from Guardian Angels. "I'd like to tell you how an angel helped me to save the lives of ten people in a van," said a caller who recounted a story that involved him tapping the shoulder of a driver who had fallen asleep as he drove along the highway. What was amazing was that the caller was blind and said he was b ... More

Iraq & Open Lines

Friday March 28, 2003

Bioterrorism and disaster preparedness expert, Steve Quayle (stevequayle.com), spent the first half of Friday night's show discussing the war. This was followed by Open Lines which included tales from time travelers. It's like a "four-tiered Monopoly board of the Middle East—it seems like there's so many moves and counter moves that finally one wonders what game is being played," Quayle said of the current war situation and the behind the scenes machinations of countries such as China and Russia. "The rhetoric in Russia has been rising dramatically," Quayle said, who reported that they had sent emissaries to Iraq to remove their secret spy files in the advent of Saddam's departure. "North Korea is the glove, and China is the hand in the glove," Quayle added about one of America's other concerns. "Things are profoundly different," in the year 2056 said the first "time traveler" on Friday's Open Lines. He claimed to be able to travel back to our time via a womb-like devic ... More

War & Germs

Friday March 21, 2003

Friday night was another six-hour marathon Coast to Coast, featuring three different guests plus open lines. Raymond Tanter (website), a scholar of The Washington Institute and member of the Council on Foreign Relations, kicked off the early feed. Tanter speculates that a US victory in Iraq will "send shivers down the spine of other rogue leaders." He believes a subsequent war with Iran may be avoided as "the seeds of democracy spread across the border." Next up was Jay H. Lehr (heartland.org), an environmental science expert who served as the Executive Director of the National Ground Water Association for 25 years. He said that luckily the environmental impact of burning oil wells in Iraq will be minimal due to a "huge inversion of air" in that region that keeps gases from rising. Linda Moulton Howe, Earthfiles investigator, appeared on the first hour of the regular broadcast with a report on SARS Pneumonia. She said that the death count was up to 10 worldwide for the myst ... Talk to an Alien

Friday March 14, 2003

The Alien Hotline was open on Friday night. "You can call me Bill," said the first self-proclaimed ET of the evening. Saying he was here to study our planet, the caller was not by himself. His cohort? A yapping dog in the background. "Joseph" said that "in his natural form he looked very similar to humans," but that he was permanently altered before he came to Earth via a "time folding" process. On his home world, he claimed there were mountains that were 4 to 5 times taller than Mount Everest. Then there was "Zak" who said in his true state he was a "round ball of light." The being known as "Lowered Standard" declared himself to be part of the "Intergalactic Witness Protection Program." 'Nuff said. View Denise Elles-Slocum's illustration of aliens titled "Friendly Visitors" by clicking here. Elsewhere in Open Lines Land, Mark from Oklahoma told a tale of two F15 planes getting tangled up in a time warp via a black cloud. Shannon shared her account of ghostly mishaps since t ... More

Tough Medicine

Friday March 7, 2003

"You've got to be brain dead to take a 1955 smallpox vaccine," that's been diluted five times, and contains a "virtual witches brew" of ingredients, said Dr. Leonard Horowitz, (healingcelebrations) an outspoken authority on medical issues, who appeared on the first half of Friday's show. Horowitz also commented on MRSA, the "superbug" that's recently been in the news. "The bug is nothing, the terrain is everything," he said, suggesting that those at greater risk would be people with compromised immune systems. Further he believes that such superbugs are more likely to be created in military laboratories rather than arising from the overuse of antibiotics. According to Horowitz, the pharmaceutical industry does not have people's best interests at heart. He damningly claimed that their agenda is to "depopulate at least half the world—and what better way to do it than expensively and slowly, with chronic illnesses whereby populations are sickened and enslaved to pharmaceuticals?" ... Séance Stories

Friday February 28, 2003

The "Séance Line" was open this Friday night. The high-flying evening included stories of an entity that tossed a woman like a sack of potatoes, a Ouija board that exploded and a fast moving shadow that covered a 3-4 block area. Michael in Atlanta told about a séance on a college campus that went out of control, with an angry entity attacking the participants. At one point Michael shouted "I have friends on the other side," which stopped the assault. In another turbulent encounter, a caller named Anthony described an experience he had as a youngster in Virginia Beach. He and some cohorts snuck into the abandoned house of the "Witch of Pongo," and attempted to contact her via a Ouija board. But instead of spelling out messages the board began to heat up, with the edges of it resembling the red embers of a hot coal. Anthony said he tossed the board like a Frisbee into a tree where it promptly blew up. Kat calling from Everett, Washington told a strange tale of a fast moving shado ... More

Did the US Set Oil Fires in Kuwait?

Friday February 21, 2003

Joyce Riley (gulfwarvets), an activist on behalf of those with Gulf War Illness, presented a shocking indictment of the US government during the first two hours of Friday night's show. She said that five separate Gulf War vets had told her that US troops were responsible for setting the oil well fires in Kuwait and that it was done to "make it look like the Republican Guard had set the fire." Riley speculated that the reason behind it was a kind of PR tactic to convince the American public that Saddam Hussein and his regime were a terrible evil. She presented a transcript of her interview with one of the accusatory vets. "The explosive I used was C4. It's light weight, it's easy to use...I placed the explosive on the wellhead and the incendiaries near by so that… after the wellhead was damaged, that the incendiary could light the crude oil to fire," he told her. Riley, a loyal American, said she hoped that the reports could be proven wrong, but had no reason to think the sol ... More

Iraq: The Smoking Gun?

Friday February 14, 2003

Bill Tierney, a former weapons inspector who worked with UNSCOM in Iraq in the late 1990s, was the guest for the first two hours of Friday night's show. He believes that Iraq has nuclear capability and the intention to use such weapons. Further, Tierney claims that he has pinpointed a hidden location in Iraq (map here) where there is a uranium enriching processing facility. "You can't put an underground chamber on the back of a truck," Tierney said, indicating that if an inspection were made in this suggested area, the Iraqis would not be able to haul off the evidence. Tierney's methods of ascertaining this location were rather unconventional. "I would ask God and just get a sense if something was valid or not, and then know if I needed to pursue it," he said. His assessments through prayer were then confirmed to him by a friend's clairvoyant dream, where he was able to find the location on a map. "Everything she said lined up. This place meets the criteria," Tierney said of a pow ... More

Doom & Gloom

Friday February 7, 2003

George rolled into Friday night by creating a special Doom & Gloom line, where callers could share their dark dreams and visions of the future. Daniel from Chico, a self-declared "professional prophet," quickly took up the gauntlet. Explaining the difference between prediction and prophecy (prophecy allows for people to change the future), Daniel told of his strange "Starburst 2020" experience where he was catapulted into a dark city of the future that was without electricity. The world, he said, had undergone nuclear devastation in a number of locations. "I've been seeing things for 40 years," said Rick, an exorcist/evangelist from Orlando. He described recently passing a cemetery by car, where it "looked like cigarette smoke was coming from all the graves. Please tell God to save us," the entities' voices came to him. "I see dead people, angels and people from the 1700's…I've seen things that would make your skin curdle," the evangelist said. "Dig a hole, deep and wide. A ... More

Greatest Stories Never Told

Friday January 31, 2003

"Hit me with your greatest story never told," George said kicking off Friday night Open Lines. Dave got things off to a mysterious start, saying "I'd rather not say where I'm calling from." Explaining he had been a naval officer stationed in the Gulf War, Dave revealed details about a reverse engineered craft that was part of a program called Tacit Blue. The small vehicle was used for reconnaissance and spying he said, and was "ungodly" quiet. "It could fly at an angle of attack I've never seen before," he added. Danny, a paramedic from NY, told a touching tale of a call he made to revive an elderly woman. Her husband told them he thought she was likely suffering from an allergic reaction to eating nuts. When Danny explained what happened to the woman, who had by then recovered at the hospital, she exclaimed "but my husband passed away two years ago!" In a similar vein was a call from a Viet Nam vet, who while serving there was led out of harm's way by a Capt. Jim Graham. It was y ... More

Voices of the Night

Friday January 24, 2003

"This is a defining moment," said Richard Hoagland (enterprisemission.com) kicking off Friday night's program. He was on the air to spearhead support for Project Prometheus, NASA's recently announced nuclear-powered propulsion system which could triple the speed of current space travel. Hoagland suggested listeners email or fax the White House endorsing Prometheus and missions to Mars that could be facilitated by this technology. He believes it is crucial to do this before Pres. Bush's State of the Union address on Tuesday. Click here to send your email. A surprise call from Jessica Hahn got Open Lines cooking in the next hour. "I love your show; every subject is fascinating," she told George. She went on to recount some of her unusual experiences which included uncanny premonitions, a visit from a "faceless figure," that may have helped her walk without leg braces, and a meeting with a family of coyotes in her backyard. George also heard from a caller in Pennsylvania who desc ... More

Full Moon Stories

Friday January 17, 2003

It was a night of Bigfoot, ghosts, demons, and wolves when George kicked off "Full Moon Stories" this past Friday on Open Lines. The Bigfoot tale came from Lexington, KY and involved a face to face encounter with something that was big, hairy, 7-ft. tall and weighing around 400 lbs. The caller said he pulled out a knife which caught a reflection of light, and it was the light that curiously made the creature cock its head and then run back down the creek bed from whence it came. "I can speak to wolves," said Matt from Los Angeles who proceeded to describe a telepathic communication he had with a huge gray timber wolf at Yellowstone Park. The wolf referred to Matt as his "brother" and suggested a ritual involving "sharing your scent and your name." Matt said when he last returned to the park he ran with a pack of 10 or 12 wolves. However, when George asked him to howl on the air, it must be said he sounded more like a dog than a wolf. A spooky ghost tale involving driving a te ... More

Night Terrors and Clones

Friday January 10, 2003

In the first hour, investigative journalist Linda Moulton Howe presented her second report into the Raelian cloning controversy. She included excerpts from her interview with Clonaid's CEO and analytical chemist, Brigitte Boisselier who continued to insist that they would be providing definitive DNA proof of the cloned child. Linda also probed Clonaid's financial affairs and motivations. Bioethicist Arthur Caplan told Linda that he suspected the Raelians may be using the controversy to bring attention to their cult. A full report of this story is available on Linda's website. "Night Terrors" was the suggested topic during open lines, which provided a chilling mixture of dark tales. The ghostly apparition of a deceased drag queen, a red face that appeared over white snow on a TV screen, and a 7-ft. tall "skinwalker" that charged a group of campers were among the encounters described. George also heard again from the caller he's dubbed the "Silhouette Lady," who described seeing ... More

Dark Tales and Rael

Friday January 3, 2003

With a report on the Raelian cloning controversy, Linda Moulton Howe kicked off the first hour. She spoke with both the UFO sect leader Rael, and a Florida lawyer named Bernard Siegel who has a filed a lawsuit against the Raelian-associated company Clonaid. Siegel believes that the act of cloning is a type of child abuse due to possible physical defects that may arise. Rael told Linda he is advising the mother of the child against taking DNA tests (to prove the cloning) because of possible damage and publicity from the lawsuit. "These people don't want to be in a circus exhibition," he said. For Linda's full report click here. George opened up the lines in the next hour with a tale of when he looked death in the face during a car accident in inclement weather. A number of subsequent callers offered their harrowing experiences during close calls. One such caller from Phoenix related an encounter where he narrowly avoided death while changing a flat tire one night. As he was ja ... More
