Sharon Stiteler was given a Peterson Field Guide when she was seven years old and snapped. Since 1997, she has made it her goal to get paid to go birding. She worked for a Twin Cities wild bird store retail company for eight years. After that, she lived as an optics rep for a year, and now leads birding trips, gives birding workshops, and writes about birds.
She has written the books Disapproving Rabbits and City Birds Country Birds. When not birding or writing, she is a part-time park ranger for the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.
