Joshua and Desy Shapiro are known as the Crystal Skull Explorers. They have been working together since 2001. Desy Shapiro is a channel of Divine Light Energy and a spiritually inspired painter. Desy is the guardian of two circles of crystal skulls, a crystal skull teacher and author. Joshua has been involved with the crystal skulls since 1983, when he saw his first ancient crystal skull in San Jose, California, made from amethyst quartz crystal called "Ami". Over the years, Joshua has given numerous presentations throughout the U.S., Europe, South America and Australia. He is also a crystal skull researcher and author and the caretaker of two crystal skulls.

The Shapiros are the joint coordinators for the World Mystery Research Center and the sponsors of the website called V J Enterprises. Together now, they are traveling throughout the world offering crystal skull related events. The Crystal Skulls themselves are considered to be one of the world greatest mysteries. Some of these artifacts have been researched by Hewlett Packard and continue to baffle the modern scientific community. There have been a number of phenomena associated with the crystal skulls including: individuals receiving a healing in their presence, psychics channeling or receiving impressions, holographic images forming inside of the crystal skulls, and a powerful energy measured within or around the skulls when activated.
