Setting Up The Coast to Coast AM Podcast for iTunes 8
System Requirements: In order to run the Coast to Coast AM Podcast for iTunes 8, please see the system requirements at: apple.com/itunes/download
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Before using the "Coast to Coast AM Podcast" for iTunes 8, you must uninstall the older Coast to Coast AM Media Center software from your computer, if you have previously installed it.
TO UNINSTALL THE COAST TO COAST AM MEDIA CENTER:
Windows 2000 / Windows XP
Click on the Start Menu.
Select Settings, and then select Control Panel.
Click Add or Remove Programs.
Select the Coast to Coast AM Media Center program.
Click the Remove button.
Mac OS X
Move the Coast to Coast AM Media Center program (located in the Macintosh HD/Applications folder) to the trash folder.
Move the Coast to Coast Media Center folder (located in the Macintosh HD/Users/{user}/Library/Applications Support folder) to the trash folder.
Empty the trash folder to permanently remove the Coast to Coast AM Media Center from your computer.
Initial Setup of the Coast to Coast AM Podcast for iTunes 8
If needed, download and install iTunes 8 for PC or Mac from: www.apple.com/itunes.
Note: If you have a previous version of iTunes installed, run Apple Software Update instead.
Once installed, launch iTunes 8 and proceed through the normal setup steps.
Then, make sure you are logged into the website with your Coast to Coast AM Streamlink username & password.
Click this link ->>> Add Coast to Coast AM Podcast to iTunes
This will bring up iTunes and auto-load the Coast to Coast AM Podcast feed to the Podcast section of iTunes.
If auto-load does not occur:
Within the iTunes player, go to the "Advanced" menu and select "Subscribe to Podcast…"
In the Subscribe to Podcast box, paste the below URL:
http://rss.premiereradio.net/coast/podcast.xml
Click OK.
When prompted within iTunes, enter your Streamlink username & password.
(Be sure to checkmark "Remember my password".)
Note: Windows XP / Vista users will be required to click the OK button for the username / password box each time iTunes is restarted.
You will see the Coast to Coast AM Podcast in the main Podcasts window of iTunes.
(If you don’t see it, click the Podcasts icon in the left menu bar of iTunes 8.)
New to iTunes 8: iTunes now has several new category viewing options. Podcasts, Categories & New. Please choose the one that best suits your needs.
Double click on the Coast to Coast AM Podcast album icon.
You will see one downloaded hour, plus the past 7 days of shows available for download.
Note: If you don’t see this, click the small dark grey triangle next to the feed to reveal the available shows for download.
To download all hours available from the past 7 days, click the GET ALL button at the top of the list.
To download individual hours available from the past 7 days, click the GET button next to each hour listed.
To monitor the progress of the download, click the Downloads icon in the left menu bar of iTunes 8.
Setting Up The Coast to Coast AM Podcast for iTunes 8 Auto-Download Feature
New to iTunes 8: iTunes now has streamlined the Podcasts settings button. Under the Podcasts category, click the "Setting…" button located in the bottom left corner of the main Podcasts window.
In the Podcast Settings box, we recommend the following settings:
Check for new episodes: Every Hour
Settings for: Coast to Coast AM Podcast
Use Default Settings: Checked
Note: If you prefer, you can manually set the "When new episodes are available" and the "Episodes to keep" settings by un-checking the "Use Default Settings" box.
Click the OK button.
Playback of the Coast to Coast AM Podcast in iTunes 8 Audio
To play the audio podcast in iTunes, simply double-click on the file of choice to hear it. Alternatively, you may simply highlight the hour of choice by clicking on it once and then clicking the play button in the upper left hand corner of iTunes.
Note: If you do not hear any audio, be sure the volume bar in iTunes 8 is adjusted to the right or make sure your computer speakers are on.
Synching the Coast to Coast AM Podcast to your iPod
Attach your iPod or iPhone to your computer using the supplied connection cable.
Click the iPod icon in the left menu bar of iTunes 8.
Click the Podcasts tab in the main window.
Checkmark Sync all episodes or Coast to Coast AM Podcast.
Click the Apply button.
Click the File menu and select “Sync iPod” to transfer the files from iTunes to your iPod.
Note: Once this has been setup once, you need only attach your iPod to auto-sync after download, or repeat the above step if the iPod is already attached to your computer.
When ready to detach the iPod and listen on-the-go, click the Eject icon next to the iPod icon in the left side menu bar in iTunes 8.

To playback the Coast to Coast AM Podcast audio on your iPod, navigate to: Music ->>> Podcasts ->>> Coast to Coast AM Podcast ->>> (Podcast Hours)
Scroll to the hour of choice and then click the center button to begin playback.
To playback the Coast to Coast AM Podcast audio on your iPod Touch or iPhone, navigate to: iPod ->>> More ->>> Podcasts ->>> Coast to Coast AM Podcast ->>> (Podcast Hours)
Tap the hour of your choice for playback.
Frequently Asked Questions
Listing Order of the Coast to Coast AM Podcast
You can control the way iTunes categorizes the order of your items by Podcast, Time, Release Date or Description.
You can easily reverse the order dates of the downloaded Coast to Coast AM Podcast Hours by clicking the Release Date tab in the iTunes Podcast category.
Within the iPod, the Coast to Coast AM Podcast is listed in chronological order by date and hour. You can create your own playlist in iTunes and arrange them in the order you wish to hear the show and then sync to your iPod.
Note: In the iPod, after you have completed playback of any given hour in the Podcast category, the iPod will take you back to the main Podcast menu. This is normal.

This is likely a result of the Windows Internet Security settings which iTunes 8 uses for its username & password authentication, to correct:
Open Window's Control Panel
Select Security Center
Select Internet Options
Click the Default Level button
Click the Apply button
Click the OK button

Mac OS X users, insure that Port 8080 is not being blocked by any network firewall. This generally may be an issue at certain paid or free WiFi Hot Spot locations.
Exclamation Point Alert Next to Coast to Coast AM Podcast Feed / Now New Podcasts Downloading
If you have downloaded, but not listened to the Coast to Coast AM Podcast in iTunes for more than 5 days, iTunes will automatically stop downloading the Coast to Coast AM Podcast, to correct:
Click the ! button next to the Coast to Coast AM Podcast feed
When asked to resume this podcast, click the Yes button
Click the Refresh button in the lower right hand corner of iTunes
