Hexagonal Sphere
In October 2002, on my way home from work between 7-8pm. The exact time and day still eludes me. I seem to have a hard time remembering. I approached a stop sign at the corner of Rust St and Flushing Ave in Maspeth, Queens, New York. I was in my work van at the time. There was a road intersecting from the left. I stopped and looked to my left and saw this object, from east to west, at what seemed about 80-100ft. It appeared the size of a large orange held at arms distance.
The object was silent as it passed by. As I saw it approaching, I opened the van door and stood in the step wheel well to get a clear view. It was made up of hexagons butted (as in the drawing) -- dark hexagons, slightly separated and what seemed like hot red coal in between and separated about 3/4 of the way back, with light emanating from it. The object glided silently and seemed to pick up speed as it traveled along Flushing and Metropolitan Aves, and then disappeared in the distance. The object was round, not as oval as my drawing.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
