Melvin Dummar says a grand conspiracy has denied him his portion of billionaire Howard Hughes' vast estate. Many consider Dummar to be a fraud but an in-depth investigation by Gary Magnesen has apparently shown Dummar to be a good samaritan who saved Hughes from certain death. Both joined George Knapp to discuss why Hughes was in the desert, as well as those who schemed to deny Dummar and several institutions of their rightful share of the Hughes estate. In the first hour, veteran music journalist Joel Selvin talked about the notorious Rolling Stones Altamont concert of 1969, considered by many to be rock’s darkest day.
This picture was taken on our first night of our "13 Nights of Halloween" contest aboard the Queen Mary (known to be haunted). We met 2 other couples there and we hung out the entire time there looking for strange and weird things throughout the ship.
Tony took this picture (seen in close-up) of us coming up the escalator from the bottom of the ship around 10:30 PM. It was just us and nobody else around, except a janitor we meet one floor up from the escalator. The lady dressed in blue on the picture had asked this janitor if he had seen any ghost and he said yes.
She then asked him if he had seen any lately, and he said 'yes, just now when you came up the escalator.' She asked him if the ghost was friendly or evil and he said that the spirit was very bad. We did not think much about it because we new that the staff would tell us scary tales just to make this contest more lively.
The next day we spent the entire day in Hollywood and when we came back Tony decided to download his pictures to his laptop. When he came across this picture he could not believe what he saw. He showed me the picture, and then we showed everyone from ABC and Disney that was there along with the staff at the QM.
The picture is of four of us because my wife had heard a strange noise while she was down there and ran up the escalator and was around the corner when Tony took the picture. We did not see anything around us and as you can see this is not a reflection of any of us. Besides, the image is coming out of the wall. When you look closer you can make out what appears to be a person with a V-neck shirt and what a lot of people think are suspenders.
We heard a few stories about who this could be. One is that a man was crushed to death in a watertight door exercise in 1966. What is spooky about this is that the door that that crushed him was door 13, which is in that area of the photo. Another story has a man burned to death when a boiler blew up, but I do not know when this happened.
We went down to the same location the next night to see if there were any red lights or anything that could have caused this, but we found nothing. Also we took more pictures of the same escalator the next night and it did not show anything on his camera. Our camera was able to pick up a red glow going up the escalator, but we had a regular camera and did not see this until we developed the pictures.
We all have stayed in touch since returning from this trip and hope to go on another spooky adventure together.
Take Care and God Bless
