Witnesses say it sounds like a woman screaming. Emanating from the Wenonah Cemetery in Mantua, NJ, neighbors have frequently heard the eerie sounds. But when police officers arrived to investigate on Nov. 17th, though they too heard the shrieks, they were unable to find the source. Nothing showed up under their search lights or on their infrared camera.
While some believe the screams come from wild animals, possibly even cougars, others think the answer may lie in the paranormal realms. Dave Juliano of South Jersey Ghost Research(1) has said that the Wenonah Cemetery is a hotbed of anomalous activity.
