Dennis Pounds Florida

Hurricane Dennis slammed ashore on the northern Gulf coast of Florida Sunday afternoon, uprooting trees and downing power lines with top sustained winds of 120 mph. The Category 4 storm lost power as it moved inland and, as of 5:00 pm local time, was downgraded to a Category 2 hurricane with wind speeds up to 105 mph. Forecasters caution that extremely heavy rains from Dennis will cause extensive flooding for the next several days. Read more here(1).
