Dr. Steve Haltiwanger, a practitioner of electromagnetic treatments and an executive with LifeWave, discussed the principles of electro-medicine and the work of Robert Becker, who wrote The Body Electric. Electronic technologies used for health are both old and new, said Haltiwanger, who combines using magnetic fields and nutrients for his patients.

Becker's pioneering work showed that electrical processes in the body control the body's chemistry, he detailed. Electrodes can be used to send cells back to an earlier state where they "de-differentiate" and allow parts of the body to regenerate, such as lost fingers, Haltiwanger explained. Specific treatments include "cranial electrical stimulation" where electrodes are placed on the acupuncture points of the ear.
