Crop Circles & Sitchin

Date: 12-22-05
Host:
Guests: Zecharia Sitchin, Colin Andrews

Guest host Hilly Rose(1) welcomed Sumerian scholar Zecharia Sitchin(2) in the first hour (see sidebar), and then crop circle researcher Colin Andrews(3) as his main guest. While working on a grant from Laurance Rockefeller, Andrews said he determined that 80% of crop circles are manmade, and 20% are truly anomalous. Yet he also found in the case of manmade circles, there may be "other-directed" or unusual mental processes afoot. For instance, he recalled an episode where he prayed for a Celtic design to appear in a field, and the very next day it appeared as a crop circle in the closest possible location to where he was living in England at the time.
Andrews recounted what took place in 1990's Operation Blackbird, an effort to capture film of a live crop circle in various UK locations. Funded mostly by Nippon TV of Japan, the forming of a spontaneous circle was said to be caught on tape. Yet, in an apparent act of suppression, this tape was swapped out and replaced with uneventful footage by UK military representatives, Andrews reported. More info is provided here, along with details about a new film project based on Andrews' life. He also touched on the 2005 Crop Circle season, noting that a number of formations reflected a Aztec/Mayan theme.
