Entertainer and magician Jim Karol discussed extraordinary feats of mind, magic, and memory. Using flash cards and memory tricks he has been able to memorize large amounts of information such as zip codes for thousands of cities. One memory technique, he explained, was to think of one hundred celebrities and then associate various things with them.
He recommended that everyone learn a couple magic tricks, as they are great as icebreakers and getting to know people. Karol is also an avid poker player and shared a tip for Texas Hold'em. There are 16 best two card combinations you can get in the hole. By memorizing these, you can play this knowledge to your advantage, he said.
Karol gained notoriety in the 1980's for correctly predicting the numbers for a Pennsylvania state lottery, 2-2-2 on a December 22nd. The numbers, he said, were told to him in a dream. He also shared a prediction for the upcoming Super Bowl-- it will go into overtime with Pittsburgh edging out a win.
