Effects of Prayer

Show Archive
Date: Thursday - May 24, 2007
Host: George Noory
Guests: Bill Sweet, David Dennis

Former President of Spindrift Research, Bill Sweet, discussed his research into consciousness and prayer. The Spindrift organization, started by Bruce and John Klingbeil, conducted experiments with subjects praying over the health of plants. Interestingly, they found that non-goal directed prayer tended to be more beneficial to the plants than praying for a certain result.

Sweet reported that prayer can often have inadvertent negative effects, because people performing prayers may retain subconscious fears and motives, that carry into the process. The quality of human thought is an important factor in prayer, and it can be difficult to arrive at the right note of order and harmony, he said.

Bruce and John Klingbeil (a father and son) committed suicide, and Sweet speculated that their discoveries about prayer and consciousness may have made them targets for a "Manchurian Candidate"-like operation to silence them.

Quake Prediction

Appearing during the first half-hour, David Dennis, a proclaimed exorcist, shared his earthquake prediction. Based on his dowsing, work with spirit guides, and a series of dreams, he foresees a 6.5 – 8 quake to hit the Los Angeles area within three weeks.
