JFK Assassination Special

Show Archive
Date: Thursday - November 20, 2003
Host: George Noory
Guests: Jim Marrs, Zach Shelton, James Fetzer, Jim DiEugenio

With the 40th anniversary of the JFK assassination just around the corner, Thursday's program featured 4 guests sharing their views of the shattering event. In the first hour, investigator Zach Shelton and journalist Jim Marrs appeared together. Shelton gave details of his interview with two FBI agents who were present at the autopsy, as well as his conversation with "James Files," a man who claims to have fired a shot on the grassy knoll and worked for both the Mafia and the CIA.

Marrs ultimately pinned the assassination on LBJ and J. Edgar Hoover, who were "both connected to organized crime and hated Kennedy." They were able to sidetrack the investigation and destroy evidence turning the case from "a Texas homicide to a national coup d'etat," he said.

A professor and the editor of Assassination Science, Jim Fetzer, was the guest for the middle two hours of the show. Incensed by the ABC News program on the assassination that had aired earlier that night, he said "the deception of the American people continues." Fetzer cited the alteration of X-rays, the substitution of the brain, and the hoaxing of the Zapruder film as examples of tampering in the case.

The final hour of the program featured author Jim DiEugenio, who discussed Jim Garrison's breakthrough investigation of the case, which was the basis for the Oliver Stone film JFK. DiEugenio has no doubts a conspiracy was afoot. "Clearly, Lee Harvey Oswald didn't fire any shots at Pres. Kennedy that day," he said. Also infuriated by the recent ABC documentary, DiEugenio mentioned the website ABC Lies which has been set up to refute their conclusions.
