In the February issue of After Dark, James Callan delves into the mysterious sightings of Mothman which took place in West Virginia during the late 1960's. Here's an excerpt:

Over the next year, there were strange happenings around the entire area of Point Pleasant. There were at least 100 sightings of Mothman and descriptions from witnesses were very similar. Mothman was about seven feet tall and walked slowly on human legs. It was better at flying and could rise straight up into the air and glide easily without flapping its huge bat-like wings.

All the witnesses said Mothman seemed headless except for evil, blood-red eyes and it had grey or brown skin. It also gave off a strange screeching sound—some said it sounded like a machine whirring, others said it sounded "like a woman screaming." Mothman seemed to have strange powers also. Televisions and phones started breaking down and cars would stall…
