Ancient Cataclysm

Archaeologist and explorer Jonathan Gray presented his thesis that civilizations were wiped out on a planetary scale around 3,000 BC. In this cataclysmic event, which may have lasted several weeks, he said, an external force caused the world to tip on its axis, altered the planet's orbit, and left more water than land on the surface.

There is evidence of mass burial graves, which Gray suggested was made up of people fleeing from the disaster. He further outlined how many deltas, trees, and reefs are no older than 5,000 years which would fit the pattern of their formation after the catastrophic global event.

Further, he believes there is evidence, that before the cataclysm, "Mother X" civilizations had technologies which in many ways were in advance of our own. These included the use of electricity, flight, and mathematics as well as medical abilities, tunnel building skills, and knowledge of the atom. He even suggested that they may have traveled to the moon and left structures there. The survivors of the disaster, while starting out on a lower level, were able to make use of some of the passed down knowledge, he noted.
