Dr. Marc Siegel reacted to the White House's latest
plan to deal with a potential bird flu pandemic. He noted that the H5N1 avian virus would need to go through several mutations before it can affect the human population on a mass scale, and that there is no imminent danger right now. Siegel suggested that the current efforts are a method to control people through fear.
