Hauntings, Shadow People & Dreams

Paranormal investigator and author Rosemary Ellen Guiley discussed her work with ghosts, demonic hauntings, and Shadow People, and also highlighted her dreaming research. There appears to be a rise in negative hauntings and "nasty portals" being ripped open which allow dark energy to come through may account for this increase (9-11 in particular created a "massive rip"), she said. Such negative hauntings may be instigated by thought forms, low level demonic entities or opportunistic spirits, detailed Guiley, who spoke about the "soul eater" home in New Jersey, that appeared to harbor many spirits of deceased people who had once lived in the house. One unhappy ghost is believed to be the source of violent poltergeist activity there.

Guiley is currently engaged in data collecting on the Shadow People phenomenon and has divided incidents into two categories. The first is a bedtime/nighttime visitor, usually not harmful, that appears to enter through the sleeping state of consciousness. The second type is a more ghost-like apparition, seen often peripherally, flitting around corners or on stairs. Interestingly, she suggested that we might manifest as Shadow People to beings in other realms.

A person can use "incubation" to enhance and seek guidance from their dream states, she shared. One of the easiest methods, said Guiley, is to "auto program" yourself before going to sleep-- suggesting that you will dream about a particular issue, remember the dream upon waking and derive some type of solution/message from it. Herbs such as mugwort (drunk in tea, or put in a sachet under the pillow) have been associated with enhanced dreams, as well as catnip tea, St. John's Wort and melatonin, she noted.

Lex: How about psychics? Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat and think: I better pay a visit to Madame Zara and her crystal ball?

Glynis: Yes. I have met some amazing psychics along the way. When they are accurate, I am BLOWN AWAY and VERY EXCITED. When I am really frustrated with a situation and want someone else's opinion, I will seek out a psychic who has an excellent reputation. However, I have met some real phonies along the way. One time I was getting a reading, and right in the middle of it, this supposedly "psychic" woman says to me, "You are going to need another reading. How much money can you bring me next time?" I almost fell out of my chair with laughter! TALK ABOUT NOT BEING SUBTLE. Needless to say, I never went to see her again. But a true psychic is a wonderful thing and someone I definitely enjoy talking to.

LL: There's something comforting about the kind of forecasting that you do. Numbers aren't nearly as spooky as messages being relayed by dead people. Can you give us little sneak peak into what 2007 has in store?

GM: Yes, I can. But I really think we need to continue focusing on the year 2006 because it is far from over. The year 2006 (2+0+0+6= 8) is the year of 8. It means we need to focus on the financial side of our lives. Are you investing? Considering purchasing a new home? Going into a partnership? You really need to check out the numerology on anyone you do business with in the year of 8, or you could be very sorry. This is a year about truth. Anyone who is deceptive will be caught.

Now as for the year 2007, I am really looking forward to it! It means that all the hard work you have put into your life in the last nine years, you finally get a payoff! It also makes me think of being caught in a really bad rain storm (the year of 8) and finally waking up to beautiful sunlight! I will tell you more about the year of 2007 as we get closer, but for now, we all need to really concentrate on the year 2006.
