Show Audio
Highlights:
Tales from the Cabin
win real

Date:

08-24-06

Host:

George Noory

Guests:

Whitley Strieber, Phil Plait, Anne Strieber

Author Whitley Strieber discussed his experiences with alien entities, some of which were incorporated into his new novel The Grays. By making the book fiction he was able to present material he believes to be true, yet did not have the documentation to present as non-fiction, such as secret U.S. technology advances. For instance, he suggested that the military has developed large triangular shaped craft modeled after the aliens'.

Featured in the book are different types of aliens, all of which Strieber said he has had personal encounters with. Among them were two types of Grays-- 4 ft. tall creatures, with long thin arms and hands, with big black eyes wrapped around the side of the head (which he suspects may be a type of covering like dark glasses), and a smaller version of this type, which operates in groups of three. There were also the Blonde/Nordics, one of whom revealed to him that his race had been at war with the Grays for millennia. A third category was composed of blue frog-like creatures who were associated with the Grays.

Whitley's wife Anne joined the program for a segment, sharing past tales of their life in a cabin in upstate New York, in an area that was a "UFO hotbed." A neighbor once saw a star-like light about 50 ft. over their house that was making a strange sound, she recounted.Whitley told of one occasion when an off-duty state trooper in the area pulled over by what he believed to be a crashed "dirigible" and he could hear someone screaming. The craft "lit-up like a Christmas tree" and started moving towards him so he drove off. He later remarked to Whitley: "I think it was you in there."

Pluto's Demotion

First hour guest, astronomer Phil Plait reacted to the IAU's decision to demote Pluto's planetary status. Trying to define a planet is a losing scenario and will likely cause more issues later when we discover bigger objects out further in the solar system, he commented. For his further thoughts, view this blog entry.
