Filling in for George, Art Bell hosted a night of unscreened Open Lines. In light of the tragedy at Virginia Tech, Friday's shooting at NASA, and increasing violent events around the country, Art asked listeners, "What's happened to us?"

Several callers phoned in to share their thoughts on the topic and air their feelings about the Virginia Tech shootings. Many of the conversations centered on the nature and source of evil, as well as how modern technology has both connected us in new ways while simultaneously disconnecting us from each other.

Music of the Sun

Astronomers have recorded the sound of acoustic waves being triggered by explosions on the Sun. Looping magnetic fields along the Sun's corona carry these magnetic sound waves, bouncing them back and forth within the 'coronal loops'.
