Mass Media & the News
In the first hour,
Drew Curtis of
Fark.com talked about his book
It's Not News, It's Fark, which examines the kind of stories the mass media attempts to pass off as news. According to Curtis, over the last several years 24-hour news outlets and related websites have moved from reporting real news to airing an increasing amount of "goofy" items. "There just isn't enough stuff to talk about," he said, citing examples of inane stories that now fill a typical news channel broadcast day.

E. Howard Hunt Update
Filling in for Art, Ian Punnett welcomed back the eldest son of "super-spy" E. Howard Hunt,
Saint John Hunt, for an update on what his father knew about the plot to kill President Kennedy, and why the mainstream news media has largely ignored this story.
During the interview, Ian played the now famous audio recording (an excerpt can be heard
here) of E. Howard Hunt linking Lyndon B. Johnson to the assassination of JFK. According to Hunt, the recording as well as a
handwritten document were sent to him unsolicited by his father.
In the third hour,
Richard C. Hoagland joined in the conversation, announcing that he and author Mike Bara have independently confirmed the validity of E. Howard Hunt's testimony while working on their upcoming book,
Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA.
