Turmeric Benefits
Appearing briefly at the start of the show, author
Christian Wilde reported on the health benefits of
turmeric, which may be able to lower inflammation in the body. The first issue of Wilde’s quarterly
Stem Cell Research Report goes to press Tuesday.
Snake Update
First hour guest, wildlife biologist
Bob Reed commented on the recent
incident in which a python ate a dog. He also discussed the problem of wild pythons in Florida (which probably came from the pet trade). The snakes are spreading throughout the state, and possibly beyond.

Noah's Ark & Creationism
Author and researcher
Walt Brown discussed Noah's Ark, the Great Flood and the debate between creationism and evolution.
The Ark might be found surrounded by permanent icecap at 14,000 ft. elevation. Mount Ararat in Turkey or the Zagros Mountains in Iran are possible locations, he said. Over the years, a number of people have claimed to see the relic. One of them was George Hagopian, who said as a young boy he was taken to Mount Ararat and shown the Ark, which he described as a big barge (
drawings &
paintings were subsequently made from his descriptions).
Brown noted that across civilizations there are some 230 legends/accounts of a great flood. Rain from clouds could not have created such a deluge, he commented. He proposed his
hydroplate theory
which suggests that crustal plates rose up out of the water-- causing continents to rise and massive flooding to occur.
Arguing that Earth was created by God just 6,000 to 10,000 years ago, Brown said that radio carbon dating doesn't take into account changes that occurred during the flood. He said there is evidence that man and dinosaurs co-existed, and that the universe itself was created at the same time as Earth. The universe's vast distances were brought about by God "stretching them out" at the time of creation, he added.

The Ararat Anomaly

Over the years, researchers such as Porcher Taylor have claimed that an anomaly high on Mt. Ararat in Turkey may be the remains of
Noah's Ark. The anomaly was
imaged by DigitalGlobe's satellite and the photos were unveiled in 2006. You can view them at
