In what one imagines was a mortifying experience, a Connecticut man was forced to call 911 after he found himself stuck inside a playground tube slide. According the harrowing misadventure reportedly occurred last Saturday afternoon at an elementary school in the community of Vernon. It was there that the unnamed 40-year-old man attempted to venture down a tube slide, but the whimsical journey went wildly awry when he somehow became folded up and, police say, "wedged feet and head first" in the middle portion of the playground equipment.
Upon realizing his predicament, the man phoned 911, and a rather sizeable rescue operation was subsequently launched. A bevy of police, fire, and EMS personnel descended upon the playground to help the unfortunate resident, who was said to be "in extreme discomfort" due to his twisted position within the slide and the particularly hot weather that day. After around thirty minutes of work requiring the aid of two fire engine towers, the tenacious tube finally released its grasp on the man. Fortunately, he emerged from the slide no worse for wear as he refused medical treatment, likely in the interest of putting the whole embarrassing incident behind him.
