In honor of our upcoming Ghost to Ghost special on Halloween night, C2C is revisiting all thirteen installments of the annual spooktacular in the Coast archive.
Today's story, from the 2013 edition of Ghost to Ghost, features what appears to have been an eerie message from the 'other side.'
The experience, Sally from Florida said, happened only a few weeks earlier, when she was on vacation in New York City.
While visiting the 9/11 memorial, Sally decided to take a picture of the site to share on social media.
Looking through the viewfinder of the camera, she saw the name 'Klaus Johannes Sprockamp' on the memorial, but didn't like how the lengthy name looked in the photo.
Sally also conceded that "I really wanted to have an American name for my one Facebook picture."
So she decided to take a photo of an adjacent panel instead and posted the image online.
Mere minutes later, Sally received a message from an old high school friend that she hadn't seen in over forty years.
The message said, "my boss was killed on 9/11 in the towers. Could you find his name for me and take a picture?"
The man's name ... Klaus Johannes Sprockamp.
Sally later researched Sprockamp and learned that he had left behind a family and a business that never recovered from his passing.
"The loss of him was really sort of a snapshot of the infinite scope of the devastation" wrought by the attack, she mused.
Sally reflected on how the experience served as a powerful lesson for her that "every single name there has a tragic story" and that all of the victims should be remembered regardless of their background.
