Blood Moon Sparks 'End Times' Cataclysm Fears

Blood Moon Sparks 'End Times' Cataclysm Fears

Some Biblical scholars fear that the coming blood moon may portend disaster – a judgement from God or worse.

Several ministries claim that that we are in the midst of a "blood moon tetrad" consisting of four consecutive lunar eclipses and six full moons, and the last one of the cycle is looming.

On September 28th the moon will appear a vivid coppery hue. Many fear that between Sept. 22 and Sept. 28 the blood moon will points to the beginning of End Times, The Rapture and a seven-year tribulation.

This "Blood Moon" theory originates from The Biblical text of Joel: "The sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes."

And again in Revelation 6:12: "And, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood".

According to Christian ministry leader John Hagee, the tetrad will coincide with an asteroid hitting the Earth. Hagee's doomsday book Four Blood Moons hit the best seller list back in March. Citing previous tetrads in history Hagee said they coincided with key events – both tragic and triumphant events in Jewish lore.

Despite scientists dismissing the theories, some followers remain concerned that the End Times will initiate final sequencing with the Sept. 28 blood moon, with Final Judgement coming from "on up high".

The Tetrad theorists claim that if a giant asteroid crashes into the Earth it would do with such explosive force it'd create a major extinction event – not unlike the one that ended the billion year reign of the dinosaurs.

To quell these doom harbingers, NASA has repeatedly said "(There is) no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth…as best as we can tell. No large object is likely to strike the Earth any time (soon)."

While scientists admit it's a "best-guess" scenario, the Universe is a very big place and there's always a possibility anything may happen. For the latest on the 'Blood Moon' and prophecies listen to Thursday night's show, with Pastor Mark Biltz of El Shaddai Ministries.
