Fossett Breaks Record

Fossett Breaks Record

Adventurer Steve Fossett set the record for the longest non-stop flight in aviation history, traveling 26,389.3 miles in 76 hours 45 minutes but landing early after a generator failure. His voyage in the Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer broke the previous record of 24,987 miles set in 1986 by Dick Rutan and Jeana Yeager, who piloted the lightweight Voyager aircraft.
