While many astronomy enthusiasts eagerly await the rendezvous between the New Horizons probe and Pluto this Summer, NASA officials are already planning on where to send the mission next. Looking to the past, Brent Swancer revisits the mysterious disappearance of Michael Rockefeller in New Guinea in 1961, as discussed on an August 2014 edition of Coast.

In other news from around the world, a 'supertide' in the English Channel created a stir off the coast of Normandy as the rising water caused the island of Mont Saint-Michel to be cut off from the mainland in a breathtaking visual. Meanwhile, Japanese officials have announced plans for a $6.8 billion dollar project aimed at constructing a series of concrete sea walls to prevent future tsunamis. And, finally, feast your eyes on the Ewok-eque Ili pika, a mysterious lagomorph which was recently photographed for the first time in 20 years.
