Origin of Stonehenge Rocks

Origin of Stonehenge Rocks

Geologists have located the source of some of the rocks used to create Stonehenge, some 5,000 years ago. By comparing rock samples, they traced the origin of the stones to north Pembrokeshire in Wales, some 150 miles away from the monument. It's thought early Britons may have rafted the heavy stones down the River Avon to reach their destination. More at the Daily Mail and the Independent.
