The 'Golden Yeti' Recipient for 2017

The 'Golden Yeti' Recipient for 2017

Documentary filmmaker Seth Breedlove has been named the recipient of the prestigious 'Golden Yeti' award for outstanding work in the field of cryptozoology.

Presented by the International Cryptozoology Museum, the award aims to honor those who have made significant contributions to the field.

In the span of just a few years, Breedlove has directed four acclaimed documentaries on legendary cryptozoological cases and his production company, Small Town Monsters, has a hand in several more films slated to be released next year.

Detailing the noteworthy nature of Breedlove's work, esteemed cryptozoologist Loren Coleman observed that "he is using new media to save the legacy of culturally important Middle America cases that would have been lost in the near future."

To that end, Coleman declared that "the historical significance of the work being accomplished by Seth Breedlove cannot be understated."

The filmmaker was presented with the award at this past weekend's outstanding International Cryptozoology Conference in Portland, Maine, where Breedlove was surprised with the trophy at the start of the event's proceedings on Sunday morning.

One of the themes of this year's festivities was a recognition of young people studying cryptozoology, including a panel of teen researchers, which made Breedlove being awarded the 'Golden Yeti' particularly apt as his relatively young age of thirty six sees him poised to produce content for many years into the future.

Coast Insiders can celebrate Breedlove's award by checking out his previous appearances on the program from 9/9/2016 & 7/15/2016.
