Video: 5 Amazing & Mystifying USO Cases

Often dismissed as a mere footnote to the UFO phenomenon, unidentified submerged objects constitute some of the most overlooked but incredible cases in the paranormal realm.

YouTube user Top5s has put together a collection of five truly mystifying USO reports that are worthy of standing alongside the iconic UFO cases that often overshadow them.

These incidents include sightings from the distant past, such as Christopher Columbus' legendary 1492 USO sighting, and the remarkably recent, in the form of a 2013 Homeland Security video which appeared to show a UFO plunge into the ocean near Puerto Rico.

But perhaps the most tantalizing tale included in the video is that of Russia's Lake Baikal, believed to be the oldest and deepest lake in the world.

The site of many previous reports of strange activity, Lake Baikal earned a permanent place in UFO lore due to a 1982 incident involving undersea humanoids!

According to the legend, a group of Russian divers in the lake encountered nine-foot long beings clad in silvery outfits and seemingly swimming without any equipment.

Allegedly one foolhardy witness tried to capture one of these entities, but was blasted by a mysterious force which thrust all of the divers back to the surface of the water.

The sudden reemergence caused the men to suffer from intense decompression sickness with some of the divers receiving catastrophic injuries.

No doubt disturbed by the weird event, it is said that the Russian government opted to render the entire affair classified until recent years and never attempted to 'contact' the undersea entities in Lake Baikal again.

Coast Insiders looking to learn more about the USO phenomenon can check out numerous programs in our archive which cover some of the cases detailed in the video.

On the 5/15/2016 edition of the program, researchers Paul Stonehill and Richard Dolan discuss the Lake Baikal case and, from 6/22/2015, authors Chris Styles and Graham Simms talk about the legendary Shag Harbour Incident.
