Video: Giant Fireball Lights Up Florida Sky

An enormous fireball illuminated the night sky over western Florida on Monday evening, leaving amazed and baffled witnesses wondering what they had just seen.

The jaw dropping phenomenon occurred around eleven in the evening and was seen by numerous observers, including a few police departments that captured the event with their dash cams.

Some concerned Floridians turned to social media to wonder if an alien invasion was underway while others called the authorities looking for some kind of cause for the frightening sight.

Fortunately, the fireball was just a meteor that was burning up as it entered the Earth's atmosphere.

Incredibly, it is believed that the object was only the size of a basketball, but it was traveling at an astounding 40,000 miles per hour, which produced the incredible light show that left some Floridians agape.
