In what is hopefully not a harbinger of things to come, a satellite image of Hurricane Matthew lurking in the Caribbean resembles an eerie 'face.'
The uncanny infrared depiction of the storm was spotted by meteorologist Stu Ostro, who shared it with his Twitter followers and insisted that the photo had not been doctored.
Hurricane Matthew has already wreaked havoc upon Haiti, taking the lives of five people and devastating the island's infrastructure.
The sinister-looking storm may not be finished with its path of destruction as residents along the Florida coast are bracing for its arrival sometime on Thursday.
And although denizens of the area don't need to be told about the dangers posed by the monstrous storms that often batter the region, the eerie satellite image of Matthew serves an unnerving reminder.
